ADAM HARDING & BRIAN BERRYHILL ELEVATED TO PARTNER

ROTH SHEPPARD ARCHITECTS EXPANDS FIRM LEADERSHIP WITH TWO NEW PARTNERS, ARCHITECTS ADAM HARDING AND BRIAN BERRYHILL

Adam Harding, AIA and Brian Berryhill, AIA step into leadership roles alongside cofounders Herbert B. Roth, FAIA and Jeffrey L. Sheppard, AIA, as partners in one of Denver's most notable design firms

DENVER, Colorado—February 3, 2016—Roth Sheppard Architects, the American Institute of Architects' (AIA) 2012 Western Mountain Region Architectural Firm of the Year, known for its award-winning restaurant, retail and law enforcement design throughout the West, today announced that architects Adam Harding, AIA, LEED AP and Brian Berryhill, AIA, have been elevated to partner.

Harding, a Colorado native, received his degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000. He joined Roth Sheppard in 2004, and was recognized by both the American Institute of Architects' Colorado Chapter and the six state Western Mountain Region with their 2015 Young Architect of the Year honor award for exceptional leadership. Harding also became licensed as an architect in 2011 at the age of 29, an extraordinary accomplishment at such a young age.

Berryhill, who previously worked for the award-winning Oklahoma City-based design firm, Elliott + Associates Architects, moved to Denver to join Roth Sheppard in October 2013. He received his Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma and became a licensed architect in January 2016.

"Brian and Adam are a critical part of our effort to continue building a diverse, talented team of architects, designers and support personnel into an exceptional studio comprised of individuals that enjoy working and playing together—all with the goal of bringing exceptional value to our clients," said Sheppard, AIA, cofounder and design principal of Roth Sheppard Architects.

"Their presence and overall contribution has already been impactful beyond the confines of a specific project. They have influenced the entire office and our desire to raise the level of design expectation throughout the region," he continues. "It is rare that young architects have the level of passion, skills and dedication capable of elevating the culture of a studio as they have demonstrated over the last few years. It is clear that Adam and Brian are the right people to help usher our firm into the future. "

The selection of these two architects, in particular [or, This decision], has been in process for some time. After observing their elevated understanding of design, their tremendous leadership and mentoring skills, and their desire to continue to pursue the highest level of design excellence and service Roth Sheppard is known for, Sheppard and Roth began to prepare Harding and Berryhill for this pivotal shift within the firm. The cofounders' quest to "create value through exceptional, thought provoking design rooted in a deep understanding of context and clients' goals, culture and program," is behind their decision, they explained.

Herb Roth, FAIA, Sheppard's partner and cofounder of Roth Sheppard Architects added, "I have known Adam personally and professionally for more than 15 years. His design work is impactful beyond the confines of a specific project; it influences the entire office in so many positive ways. And Brian's commitment to producing a quality product, passion to take on anything, and patience, mentoring and technical skills have impressed us all since he joined our firm in 2013. Both are exceptional individuals and leaders, and are wonderful role models for today's young architects. Jeff and I are confident that they will form a fantastic, collaborative leadership team for Roth Sheppard in time."

"Adam and I will make a really great team. Our areas of focus are quite different, but that makes us the perfect partners in terms of setting the tone, and taking the firm forward into the future," added Berryhill. "As we strive to deliver even better work for our clients, let us be reminded that architecture, more than anything, is about asking the right questions and being good listeners. I believe the quality of our relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, is a critical aspect of elevating our firm's services and look forward to leading the way in that regard."

"Having worked under Jeff and Herb for the last 12 years as my mentors, I've had the extraordinary opportunity to understand their commitment to high standards of design excellence and to grow with them," said Harding. “This is the next natural step for me. I've poured my heart and soul into this studio over the last decade and look forward to taking it to the next level in partnership with Brian. Roth Sheppard's legacy will be in good hands as we grow into our new roles over the next few years."
