ROTH SHEPPARD ARCHITECTS FEATURED IN HOSPITALITY DESIGN

Roth Sheppard Architects most recent restaurant, Izakaya Den, is featured in the January 2014 issue of Hospitality Design magazine. Izakaya Den, one of the most popular restaurant in Colorado, is Denver’s answer to a Japanese gastro pub. Molded after the lively after-hours establishments found throughout Japan, this restaurant serves traditional Japanese small plates along with dishes infused with international flavors and textures. Roth Sheppard’s design, based on the concept of “wabi-sabi,” (a comprehensive Japanese world view or aesthetic often described as one of beauty that is imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete), seamlessly fuses classic Japanese design elements with modern décor accents. This truly unique atmosphere explores asymmetry, roughness or irregularity, simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects and processes.
