Kizaki

REPEAT CLIENT
Kizaki is a high-end omakase restaurant and cultural dining experience in the heart of Denver. Developed in close collaboration with Master Chef Toshi and his culinary team, the design reflects the principles of Japanese hospitality—omotenashi—while offering a warm, immersive space rooted in both locally sourced and regionally inspired natural materials.

The interior concept—a “Hidden Forest” of unfolding moments stylized as a journey into nature—is tailored to the visitor experience. The unassuming exterior responds to the historic South Pearl Street context, blending with neighboring buildings. Climate-responsive strategies include: durable material selection such as charred wood (Shou Sugi Ban); a skylight roof that harnesses soft, indirect daylight, reducing dependence on artificial lighting; a system of deep overhangs and insulated envelope assemblies that manage heat gain and loss; a rooftop terrace to maximize outdoor use.
