In February 2024, the City of Aurora engaged TCA and Roth Sheppard Architects to develop a comprehensive Public Safety Facilities Master Plan. This strategic initiative aims to guide facility and capital planning for the next 25 years, encompassing the Aurora Police Department (APD), Aurora Fire Rescue (AFR), and Aurora911.

The master planning process included a thorough analysis of current operations and facility conditions, coupled with a detailed space needs assessment. The study projected staffing, spatial requirements, and facility needs across multiple time horizons: immediate, 5-year, 15-year, and 25-year intervals. This forward-looking approach ensures the plan will serve as an essential roadmap for infrastructure planning and programming efforts across all three public safety departments.
