WHATS NEW

  • ROTH SHEPPARD MOVES INTO DRAMATIC NEW STUDIO SPACE
  • January 12, 2011

In December 2010, Roth + Sheppard Architects moved their design studio to one of LoDo’s historic buildings at 1900 Wazee Street—an old brick and heavy timber space across from Coors Field. The design of their new 15 foot wide by 75 foot long space, is based on the concept of 'Temenos'—a Greek word meaning ‘sacred space’. The elongated central spine of their new office features a 55 foot long communal table surrounded by 15 foot high sheer curtains [to provide transparent privacy to designer workspaces located along both sides] and functions as a gallery, communal work area and giant meeting room for the firm. Jeff Sheppard, AIA and Herb Roth, FAIA, view their move as an opportunity to design an architectural office that will not only reflect the firm’s modernist work and design process, but actively engage clients in the creative experience. Their new identity and direction is intended to respond to the needs, motivations and work styles of the firm’s younger staff and clients while continually raising the bar in all areas of their 26 year old practice.
