Located at the base of the ski resort in Crested Butte, Colorado, this 1,800 SF restaurant is designed to provide skiers with a seductive respite. Interior sinuous curves are abstracted from the skiers’ tracks within fresh powder while subliminary referencing the smooth guitar licks of Django Reinhardt.
Within the space, a sliding shear curtain can be moved to redefine the seating layout. A 12’ high wall of wine provides textural relief and adds a layer of kinetic movement as the restaurant owner slides the mobile ladder down the length of the bar to retrieve another bottle of wine.
